Prayers for Boston

It is heartbreaking to hear about the tragedy that took place today at the Boston Marathon. My prayers, as well as the prayers of my staff and the congregation at Living Word, are for the peace of God to flood the lives of everyone affected in any way by the horrific acts that took place.

I encourage all of us to set aside any fears or doubts and simply pray for the healing and recovery of those impacted and justice for those responsible. Know this: that no matter the situation, God is still good. God’s character has not changed, nor should our perspective of Him change because of evil actions that target our freedom and work to compromise our liberties.

Please join with me in praying this prayer for our nation as well as the families affected by today’s events:

“Heavenly Father, we need you right now. May Your peace and grace extend to the families who have lost a loved one. May Your healing power strengthen the physical bodies of those who have been hurt. May You come into this situation and minister to those who need your touch. Guide our leaders. May they know how to proceed in dealing with the evil behind this attack. May your light shine in this dark area. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
