Six Mindsets to Eliminate From Your Life, Part 6
Stop Judgmental Thinking
We have a tendency to point our finger at others and say, “Did you see what they did?” Gossiping, backbiting, and accusing others makes us feel less bad about the things we need to deal with in our lives. If we can make somebody else look real doggy, then somehow by comparison, we think we might look a little better. This judgmental mindset needs to be eliminated from our lives.
How do we rid ourselves from judgmental thinking, or for that matter, any of these other mindsets? According to 2 Corinthians 10:4, we are to cast down vain imaginations. Negative, self-centered thoughts are going to come, but you don’t have to take those thoughts as your own. Don’t meditate on them or deliberately focus on them. Get them out of your mind and replace them with thoughts from the Word. That is how you wean your mind away from these negative mindsets and the fretting each of them produces.
